05/15/2017 -Fearful Odds Is A Haunting Memoir Of Combat In Vietnam And The Consequences of War Fearful Odds Is A Haunting Memoir Of Combat In Vietnam And The Consequences of War -(Event Location - Philadelphia Union League, 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA) Fearful Odds Is A Haunting Memoir Of Combat In Vietnam And The Consequences of War Chuck Newhall is, by any material measure, wildly successful. Along with two partners he founded a venture capital company that raised more than $14 billion and helped start 800 companies with more than half a trillion in revenues. Those companies helped create balloon angioplasty, interleukins, chirally pure pharmaceuticals, Medicare and Medicaid case management, epigenetics, the internet, the Ethernet and high-speed data communications. But through all the years of high-pressure deal making Newhall kept a secret. During business meetings and at social events he would be nearly overwhelmed by flashbacks to a darker, more dangerous time, flashbacks so vivid he would grip the edge of the table to keep control of himself. His memoir Fearful Odds is not only the story of what caused his PTSD and the nearly devastating impact it had on his life, it is also an inspiring story of how one man overcame his psychological injuries. It is, in the end, a story of hope and triumph with lessons for the millions of veterans of Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. Fearful Odds is Chuck’s story, honoring those he served alongside in combat in Vietnam…and especially to those who did not return home. American Legion Post #405 is truly blessed by the opportunity to witness history.   All are welcome to attend – Civilian, Guests, Retired, Reserve & Active military.   Dress code for men: Business attire.   Please RSVP to: awaskie@temple.edu – Dr. Andy Waskie(click on event title for more info)

They are to honor the lives and the service of these dedicated law enforcement officers and other emergency services professionals. To let the families and loved ones left behind know that they are not alone in their grief. To bring awareness and understanding to the issues of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression. To release the stigma associated with the choice of suicide. PTSD is real, depression is real, and it is prevalent throughout the emergency services. It needs to be recognized and those suffering need to be helped, not shunned. Through awareness and understanding we can save the lives of those who choose to dedicate their lives to protecting and saving others. Although the project was started in the recognition of police suicide, we honor and recognize all factions of law enforcement and emergency services. 05/15/2017 – Fearful Odds Is A Haunting Memoir Of Combat In Vietnam And The Consequences of War
Location: Philadelphia Union League, 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA
Time of Event:
6:00 pm
DESCRIPTION of Event: Fearful Odds Is A Haunting Memoir Of Combat In Vietnam And The Consequences of War Chuck Newhall is, by any material measure, wildly successful. Andy Waskie……click on event title for more info and flyer
