Mid-Atlantic Police and Fire Survivors’ Weekend (MAPFSW) is a series of events that recognize truly forgotten heroes: the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters, including family members and co-workers. It is a weekend in autumn when old friends get to see each other and new survivors become part of our close-knit family. This year’s MAPFSW (our 15th annual event!) will take place from September 26 through 28, 2014.
The weekend focuses on survivors from the following states: New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. However, in past years we have honored the requests of families that reside in our region and hosted families from Georgia and Colorado, in addition to those from the Mid-Atlantic region. We are also different in that we recognize survivors from not just the current year, but those that were killed in the line of duty from the past. The event is hosted annually by the North Wildwood Police Department and is held in the seashore resort of North Wildwood, New Jersey. For more information, call 609-522-2411 or e-mail info@midatlanticsurvivors.org.
