In Search of Veteran's Graves:  6:00 pm

Russ Dodge began a lifelong love of history in his youth. Walks through local cemeteries in his boyhood home of Salem, New Jersey caused him to realize that cemeteries are a treasure of history, and every person's story needed to be found and told. He started historical explorations of burial grounds while attending Kean University in Union, New Jersey, taking pictures and recording grave stones, with a special eye towards Civil War veterans. He discovered the burial web site:’Find-a-Grave’ and reached out to the, and soon became an active contributor providing photos and biographies he had researched and uncovered. He has now worked over 21-years of association with the site... Philadelphia Union League, 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA

Project Blue Light memorial Ride. We Ride to Stop Police Suicide:  10:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Project Blue Light Memorial Ride. We Ride to Stop Police Suicide . We Ride in These Officers Memory and in Honor of Their Service to Law Enforcement  as We Ride in Honor of the Family's of These Officer's . The Ride was started by The brother of a Philadelphia Police Officer who died by suicide in Dec 2010   The Ride is a cycling event. were police officers and civilians come together and ride in their memory  and in honor of their service Project Blue Light of Philadelphia PA,'' Published by Vincent Gibson Like This Page · March 1 · Edited ·     Remember Their Live's Honor Their Service Never ForgottenProject Blue Light has some goals. They are to honor the lives and the service of these dedicated law enforcement officers and other emergency services professionals. To let the families and loved ones left behind know that they are not alone in their grief. To bring awareness and understanding to the issues of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression. To release the stigma associated with the choice of suicide. PTSD is real, depression is real, and it is prevalent throughout the emergency services. It needs to be recognized and those suffering need to be helped, not shunned. Through awareness and understanding we can save the lives of those who choose to dedicate their lives to protecting and saving others. Although the project was started in the recognition of police suicide, we honor and recognize all factions of law enforcement and emergency services.
