On July 8, Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. welcomed home Lance Corporal Kody Schneider, a 20 year-old Marine who served in Afghanistan. Schneider enlisted in the US Marine Corps on February 6, 2010 and attended boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina where he received a meritorious promotion to Private 1st Class. On Jan. 7, 2011, he went to infantry school at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina and attended further training at 29 Palms, California in anticipation of deployment to Afghanistan. He was deployed on December 4, 2011 and his battalion was charged with training the Afghan police and military personnel. Schneider received the Marksmanship Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. We are happy to have Lance Corporal Schneider home and we thank him for his service to our country
