The Freeholder Board’s Office of Veterans Affairs is going on the road to bring services directly to Camden County Veterans. The County is home to approximately 30,000 veterans and this new program will provide a one-stop shop to the men and women of the Armed Services.
Camden County veteran service officers will be joined by case workers from the U.S. Veterans Administration, in addition case workers of our state legislative and federal representatives’ offices will be in attendance as well. The Camden County One Stop Career Center will provide veteran employment resources, the South Jersey Eye Center will be there for eye screenings, and Bancroft Neurohealth will offer information on brain injury services.
This outreach event will provide greater access to these beneficial programs by bringing our Veterans Affairs staff to the Veterans that they serve.
New Jersey Veterans Haven, from Winslow, will also have a presence at the event providing information on their program, which connects veterans with transitional housing. Right now there are approximately 8,000 homeless veterans in the state of New Jersey and this program.
Other veterans organizations will be on hand to help with various veteran related services.
