Pemberton NJ. Details about PFC Niels (Hank) H. Jorgensen.He just turned 86 this month. He was drafted into the Army right out of high school in 1945. After basic training he was assigned to the Quarter Master Corps in Bremen-Vegesack Germany. He spent his time in the service running supplies for his fellow servicemen. He was discharged in 1947. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He never received the medals because you had to pay for them at that time and money was really tight. This will mean so much to him as he has never really been recognized as a WWII Vet. What do you say we show an 86 year old vet how much he is appreciated for what he did to help keep us free, even before many of us were born., Wawa, Pemberton NJ

08/18/2013 Blue Knights NJ-8 Law Ride There are two start locations for this ride. In Rockaway the ride will start at Hibernia Diner, 9 Green Pond Road. In Springfield riders will start at Autoland, 170 Route 22 East. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the motorcycles go out at 10:30 am. 08/18/2013 Mug n Hug WWII Irv MesherMug and hug for WWII veteran Irv Mesher. He served in the Navy on the USS Silverstein, a destroyer escort, as a sonarman first class. He was one of the first crew on this ship. He survived the battles of Iwo Jima and Oninawa. After the war he returned to his first love as a trumpet player accompanying many stars such as Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Lena Horn, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis JR. In 1955 he joined the New York City fire dept and rose to the rank of Battalion Chief before retiring in the South Bronx. We will surprise him as he is relaxing at my house in Bensalem, on Sunday August 18th around 1830. 08/24/2013 Welcome Home U.S. Army SP4 Sean Lucas We have been asked by a Proud Mom and Dad, Jill and Joe Lucas, to Welcome Home their Son from the Sandbox…so that is just what we will d0. Our Hero is a 2010 Graduate of Burlington Township High School who while there made the All County Bowling Team in each of his 4 years rolling a 299 as a Freshman and a 300 Perfect Game as a Junior. He enjoys Fantasy Football and is a Tennessee Titans Fan along with enjoying video games with his friends. Our Hero turns 21 soon and what better way for him to celebrate the Legal drinking age by having a bunch of Bikers sing Happy Birthday to him…after hearing that he probably definitely will need a drink!! Sean left for Basic Training for the U.S. Army on 1-18-2011. Our Hero Deployed to Afghanistan on 10-30-2012 and returned on 7-10-2013.MOS – 13F. Sean recently was Promoted to Specialist 4.Based out of Lewis-McChord Joint Base in the State of Washington. 08/29/2013 Unattended Veterans Service Military Honors will be performed in honor of those veterans interred in the month of August who had no one attending their service.The names will be read, the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will present the flag to a cemetery volunteer who will receive the flag on behalf of all of the veterans. The Guardians will perform the rifle salute and provide live Taps if available. If not, the electronic bugle will be used.The Unattended Veteran’s Service will take place after any scheduled 1:30pm service has been completed.It is our hope that all cemetery employees will be present along with any interested individuals wishing to attend. Feel free to invite anyone you wish. Clergy of all faiths are invited to attend.
