He was born and lived in the Trenton area most of his life. He founded, owned and operated AZ Music Center in Morrisville, PA, and also retired after 38 years as a First Sergeant and Bandmaster of the Adjutant General’s Own 276th Army Band of PA.
Richard lobbied the US Congress to honor our fallen military heroes through use of Qualified Military Buglers to provide a live playing of “Taps” at their services. As “The Lone Bugler”, over the past nine years he sounded “Taps” in honor of hundreds of his fallen comrades and their families. He would share Patriotic talks with schools, Veterans Homes, Hospitals and Senior Centers, was honored to be selected to perform for the Washington Word War II Memorial Dedication Ceremony on the USS New Jersey and was instrumental in helping establish a section of the Bordentown Cemetery for fellow veterans.
Richard’s numerous awards included: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon with bronze #4, Man of the Year – AHCA.
Organizations which honored him and his dedication including: Mercer County Veterans, The American Legion, Bordentown Township and City, Association of the National Guard, American Hungarian Civic Association and Vietnam Veterans to name a few. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, Mt Moriah Lodge #28 F&AM of Bordentown, Musicians Local 62, PAESGR, PNGEA, EANGUS, and continued to serve as the Official Bugler for numerous organizations until his passing.
He had a gift that enabled him to relate with people, was a pleasure to be around along with the conviction to provide and implement his belief that his fallen comrades deserved the final honor from our nation. He will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph Pinter and Elizabeth (Kamrath); he is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Pinter (Nyul) together 53 years; three daughters: Diana Ross (John), Judi Dudley (Robert Trombley) and Kathy Carson (Michael); his sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann and David Scheetz; five grandchildren, William Carson, Robert Morton, Benjamin Halifko, Andrea Carson and Norman Dudley; three great grandchildren: Connor, Chase and Sophia Dudley; a niece, Jennifer Leader; a nephew, Christopher Scheetz and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
