Ride with us this SUNDAY to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and onto the Flight Line. Show your support to Military, both local and abroad, as well as veterans and Military Families everywhere.

THE MORNING:

The 8th Annual AFFR scheduled for this Sunday, May 18th will leave Barbs Harley Davidson at 10am. Bikes start arriving at 7am. If you have already signed up and do not have your arm band (first 100 sign ups also got t-shirts) they will be at the receptionist counter insdie the dealership. If you have not registerd there will be a registration table on the opposite side of the building near the big riders education lot. Breakfast and coffee will be available. Expect to see Flyers Alumni players Bob Kelly, Bill Barber and Frank Bialowas, they will be handing out some cool Flyers promo items. Patriotic ceremonies will start at 9:30am. They will include guest speakers from the military and community leaders, as well as Senator Donald Norcross. Kick Stands Up at 10am and we’re off!

THE RIDE:

We will have a full police escort up to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. When exiting the dealership our speed will stay at 20mph until every motorcycle is on 295 north. Once every bike is on 295 we will increase our speed to 50mph. Then back down to slower speeds when we exit 295. There will be a rolling road block so that cars cannot get into our parade. But, it is also important that every riders stays close to the rider in front of him/her. in other words NO BIG GAPS. Police and volunteers are blocking traffic intersections and ramps on 295. If there are large gaps it is difficult for the Police to hold the cars. When that happens it causes riders to be separated from teh group. They now need to get past the cars and try to catch up. The flight line is a true gift that is given to us for a certain amount of time. We want EVERYONE to experience the thrill of riding the Flight Line so please no gaps. Please maintain the two second following rule. And remember to ride staggered for safety. NO GAPS PLEASE!

THE FLIGHT LINE & THE BASE

Riding the Flight Line is one of the most beautiful and patriotic places to ride your motorcycle. It is a gift from JB-MDL and we do not want to loose this patriotic privilege. So please stay in formation, do not pass the rider in front of you and do not speed. Just ride and enjoy the beautiful sights of C-17’s, KC-10’s and this unique opportunity to let freedom ring! PS.. Base Security Forces will be present and enforcing Flight Line and Joint Base rules. JB-MDL is a secured military installation. AFFR riders are granted special access the base under their guidelines. You must be registered and wearing a visible wristband. Wristbands are given out at time of registration. Keep it fun and enjoy the ride.

Once we exit the Flight Line we’ll remain on JB-MDL and ride to Doughboy Field. Everyone will be given a free AFFR pin and a free BBQ lunch of chicken, dogs, burgers, plenty of sides, and water & soda. Again we will have ceremonies including Color Guard, Pledge of Allegiance and patriotic songs sang by military members. We will hear speeches from JB-MDL Leaders and military members. Also, from community leaders including Congressman Jon Runyan. There will be a high noon fly over in a Red, White and Blue Cessna. Vendors and plenty of door prizes from CBS Radio, Flyers Alumni, Drag Speciliaties, Barbs HD, Letterfly pinstriper, local restaurants, Xylon and many others. So, come and ride with us. This day is all about showing our local mlitary community that our local motorcycle community supports and appreciates JB-MDL.

THE AFTER PARTIES:

We have two locations hosting after parties, with drink and food specials for riders wearing their AFFR pin or t-shirt. Pic-A-Lilly Inn, 866 Rt 206, Shamong, NJ AND Rexys Restaurant and Bar, 700 Black Horse Pik, W. Collingswood.
