Barnegat’s 3rd Annual Ceremony welcoming home all Vietnam veterans with their families and supporters from NJ and across the states.
2 locations 1 mile away from each other:
Barnegat American Legion Post 232 (499 N Main St, Barnegat, NJ 08005)
- 9am – 2pm
- VA, Vet Mobile Center bus, and DAV trailer stationed at Post to help vets with claims and other areas of support
- 4pm – 5pm
- Light refreshments and camaraderie at Post’s canteen after ceremony at Gazebo Park (1 mile south of Post)
Gazebo Park (352 N Main St, Barnegat, NJ 08005)
- 3pm – 4pm
- 600 pins for all Vietnam veterans in attendance at conclusion of event
- Vietnamese community members, Vietnamese veterans, and former Vietnamese POWs also in attendance to welcome home all Vietnam veterans who served in the Vietnam War
- Music from Barnegat Middle School Chorus and Barnegat High School Marching Band
- Operation Babylift survivor and musician, Steve Hartmann performs song written for Vietnam veterans
- Operation Babylift reunion
- Restored military jeep on display
- Wreath laying at Vietnam Veterans Monument
- Speeches
- Car magnets and other pins for Vietnam veteran supporters
