Samantha Cheng, the producer of “Honor and Duty: The Mississippi Delta Chinese” and hear about the Chinese Americans that served gallantly in WWII in the US military. With only a total population of 70,000 Chinese Americans in the US at the beginning of WWII, due to the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act, approximately 20,000 Chinese Americans volunteered to serve in the various branches of the US military. During the course of the evening, hear directly from Ms. Cheng about the many Chinese American WWII Veterans have been accounted for as part of the Chinese American WWII Veteran Recognition Project and an open discussion on the making of this important documentary which preserves this important era of our Nation’s history.
