A little History on these soldiers,
An article states, these unrecognized men led President Lincoln’s Funeral Procession & pursued his assassin. Fought alongside the most elite regiments. 54th & 55th Massachusetts & others. Exceptionally served is documented in library books at the Monroe Vet Admin Director of 30 years passed down their service, battle records& muster rolls.

Civil War Veterans built Little Bethel Church on Third Street in Stroudsburg in the late 1860s. Shari Chambers identifies the church’s founder and original pastor, the Rev. Samuel Huff, as her full-blooded Lenni Lenape ancestor.
Chambers said Huff and other Native American and African American families built the church, which was abandoned in the 1980s and fell into disrepair. The Little Bethel Historical Association has been trying to restore the former church building in recent years with the help of contractors, volunteers and community donations.
Chambers originally envisioned a granite marker, 10 feet high by 4 feet wide by 4 feet deep, bearing a plaque honoring the Huff and other families who founded the church, but it will now be a plaque mounted on a pole. Stroudsburg Borough officials recently told her the plaque is allowed on borough property, which in this case is the sidewalk near the curb in front of the church.
