The 27th Annual Detachment of New Jersey POW/MIA Watchfire will be held starting at 7pm on Saturday, September 16th, through to 7am on Sunday September 17th. The watchfire is a 12-hour vigil for the men and women of our armed forces who have still not returned home from service.
The location is 1200 Route 35 South in Seaside Heights, NJ, just south of the Stewart’s Root Beer on the bay-side of Seaside Heights. There is a large parking area, and the beach is accessible right off of the parking lot.
Please note that we will NOT be retiring flags at the Watchfire going forward. Do not bring any flags for retirement to the Watchfire. For further information about the event, please visit the Detachment of NJ website.
