First Lieutenant Joseph Zeek joined the National Guard in July of 2008, he attended Officer’s Candidates School at Palmetto Military Academy in August 2010. He toured in Taji, Iraq from May 2011 to April 2012. He is still serving in the reserves and is getting ready for another possible deployment. While serving he received news that his wife was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He was then flown home to be with his wife. Joe then took a small reprieve to help his wife fight a different battle. Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer this past February, and now he will be going back full time into the national guard.So it would really mean a lot not only to him but to our family to really thank him not only for the battle he served for our country but also the battle her served with his beloved wife.
