We have been asked by the family and by our brothers from the Nam Knights to stand a flag line and then escort Mr. Placentra to his final resting place Rally point: St. Michael the Archangel Parish/St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 700 Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312. Rally time: 0900 flag line in place by 0915 Escort to follow service John J. Placentra, 91, of Franklinville, NJ, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Born and raised in SW Phila., John lived in Franklinville since 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a 4th-degree member of the C.J. Archbishop Damiano Assembly Knights of Columbus Mater Christi Council 3352, being both a past District Deputy and Grand Knight. He was also an active member of the VFW and American Legion, as well as a member of the Air Transport Command, an organization of World War II veterans that served in North Africa. Beloved husband of Florence (nee Astolfi) for 62 years. Devoted father of Joseph (Kim) Placentra, Theresa (Bruce) Karson and Michael (Amy) Placentra. Dear brother of the late Daniel Placentra, the late George Placentra, the late Ann Melchiore, the late Rita Boyle, the late Frances Veneri, the late Ida Tofani, and the late Grace Tursi. Loving grandfather of Joseph, Nicholas, and Vivienne. He was also the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Parish/St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 700 Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Interment at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, Williamstown.
