Michael Strange, United States Navy Petty Officer 1st Class (Expeditionary Warfare Specialist) of Philadelphia, Pa., was one of 30 service members who were killed supporting Operation Enduring Freedom on August 6, 2011 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, when their CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed.
To honor Michael, the son of active Philadelphia Police Officer Elizabeth Strange, a Mass will be said for him and then a mural commemorating his life will be dedicated. Following is the information for both events.
