On March 28, 1975, Patrolman Donald Aleshire of the Mount Holly Police Department and Officer William Wurst of the Hainesport Police Department were shot and killed by a sniper on Garden Street. Officer John Holmes, also of the Mount Holly Police Department, was wounded on the same day and paralyzed before succumbing to his injuries 17 years later. The officers who worked alongside these men as well as other officers from around the state responded to pay their respect by marching on High Street toward the funeral home. Forty years later, we have not forgotten the sacrifice these officers had made for this township.

On March 28, 2015, members from this department and Officers from around Burlington County are going to recreate the march that was made forty years ago. We are going to have a ceremony starting at the Mount Holly Police Department and march to Garden Street where we will reveal a commemorative plaque where the Officers gave their lives.

Everyone is Welcome! 23 Washington Street, Mt Holly, NJ
