Join us for a film screening premiere of “Our Way Home” presented by Seeds of Home Program and Temple Veterans Association (TVA) on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 4:00p- 5:15p in Alter Hall, Speakman 115 on Temple Main Campus.
“Our Way Home” documentary was produced by Alexis Werner, Seeds of Hope Director, FSBM freshman who was inspired by her experience with her stepfather’s Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to start a program to help veterans.
Our Way Home: Transitioning From the Front Lines to the Home Front, shows the psychological effects of war, specifically Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), by documenting the homecoming stories of United States veterans from World War II until present day. The film addresses issues such as: “How has the culture changed the way what was traditionally known as “shell shock” into a serious disorder that effects 7.7 million Americans every day?” “How can society help ease this transition?”, and most importantly, “Where can veterans with PTS get help?”
Mark your calendar now, and come out to support Temple Veterans Association and the Seeds of Hope Program in bringing awareness to the Temple community on understanding the serious effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
