NEW JERSEY EMPLOYER SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE and the 84TH TRAINING COMMAND invite you to a patriotic presentation:

“From the Greatest Generation to Citizen Warriors”

July 11, 2014 at 11 a.m.

Cherry Hill Dodge Showroom, 1708 Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, N.J.

The ‘Railsplitters of the “84th” have a decorated past and a lineage that is rumored to count Abraham Lincoln as an early member and Henry Kissinger who later wore the unit’s uniform.

During WWII they were the 84th Infantry Division.

Cherry Hill resident, Edward Martino, was a proud member of their 309th Combat Engineers.  A purple heart recipient, Martino was one of the American heroes who battled in snow, sleet and rain to engage the enemies of freedom during the “Battle of the Bulge,” the largest and bloodiest battle fought by the United States in World War II.

Now under the Army Reserve, the 84th Training Command provides training to joint, combined and active Army forces and have a local presences at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

EMPLOYER SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE (ESGR) is a Department of Defense, mostly volunteer organization that seeks to create a culture where all American employers value and support the military service and sacrifice of their employees.

In attendance will be;

  • *Cherry Hill WWII Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient Edward Martino
  • *Brigadier General James Grant, NJ Department of Military and Veteran Affairs
