The South Jersey Stand Down has been held annually since September 1996.The Cherry Hill Stand Down provides services to homeless veterans along with shelter, meals, clothing, and medical attention. This annual event is an entirely volunteer effort, organized within Camden County and New Jersey communities, bringing service providers together such as the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists, Local Veterans Employment representatives, various veterans service organizations, military personnel, civic leaders, local grammar schools and a variety of other organizations. Since 1996 this event has served as a catalyst that enables homeless veterans to re-enter mainstream society. VOLUNTEERS WANTED.
