Our guest speaker, Sam Doss, will speak on The Battle of Hürtgen Forest. It was a series of fierce battles fought from 19 September 1944 to 10 February 1945 between American and German forces on the Western Front during World War II in the Hürtgen Forest, about 50 sq mi east of the Belgian–German border. It was the longest battle on German ground during World War II, and is the longest single battle the U.S. Army has ever fought.
Sam Doss is currently, President of CSM Solutions, a small Dept. of Defense contractor specializing in foreign language services, training and logistics support to continental US and overseas military operations and battlefield staff rides. Sam has 20 years of Defense Department contracting experience in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. He will go into some operational detail, and will entertain general or detailed questions.
