Jersey City will salute veterans Sunday with its first Veteran’s Day parade.

“A Parade of Veterans and Heroes” will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday from City Hall on Grove Street to the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery, 435 Newark Ave., where at 11:30 a.m. the city will have its 8th annual “Honoring Our Heroes Military and Musical Tribute,” sponsored by AT&T .

The parade will feature veterans, current military and public safety personnel, floats and marching bands. Military vehicles, vintage cards, pipe and drum corps and a K-9 unit also will participate.

A 21-gun salute is planned, as well as a wreath ceremony and flag blessing at the cemetery following the parade.

The musical tribute will feature MTV artist Lovari along with a USO show with the Sunshine Girls festuring Chimene Petitt, Eva Sklar, Vincent Talarico and Art Markenstrin.

Food and refreshments will be available.

Spectator stations will be located along the parade route on Christopher Columbus Drive behind Porta Restaurant, and on Newark Avenue at First Street, near Monmouth, and at Division.

The parade is sponsored by Jersey City and the Office of Veterans Affairs in partnership with the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery.
