Garfield VFW to host Vietnam Film Fest on January 5, 2018

Free screening of two award winning documentaries

Two award winning documentaries, “The Wall’s Embrace” and “Blood Road” will be shown at the Garfield VFW, 340 Outwater Lane in Garfield, NJ, on Saturday, January 5, 2018. Door open at noon.  “The Wall’s Embrace” will be shown at 12:30 and will follow with a discussion with the director, Nancy Frohman, and a Skype Question and Answer with songwriter Mitch Townley (“The Wall Song”). “Blood Road” documentary will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by a panel discussion with Vietnam War Veterans. 

There will be no admission fee charged for this event, however, reservations are strongly recommended via registration through:

About “The Wall’s Embrace”

The Wall’s Embrace is a powerful documentary, narrated by Jimmy Buffett, that explores the psychology behind the Vietnam Veterans Memorial’s enduring power to heal. Most Americans who know anything about the Vietnam War know that U.S. servicemen returned to hostility, blame and rejection. What many do not know is how The Wall has helped so many of them heal from the emotional scars they suffered, or why it continues to deeply affect people who visit now, nearly 4 decades later.

The mysteries surrounding her father’s death in the Vietnam war lead ultra-endurance mountain biker Rebecca Rusch on an emotional journey as she pedals 1200 miles of the Ho Chi Minh trail.
