Spc. Ryan Lewis will receive a hero’s welcome and celebration at the Villas VFW Post 5343 after completing his first tour in Afghanistan. Lewis, 21, of North Cape May, joined the Army after graduating Lower Cape May Regional High School. He is the son of Lower Township Police Officer Kevin Lewis.
Lewis will enjoy some much deserved time off in Lower Township for two weeks before returning to Fort Bliss in Texas.
A procession made up of the Lower Township Police Department, local fire companies, rescue squads, and motorcycle groups will pick up Lewis at his home in North Cape May at 3 p.m. on Sept. 20 and transport him to the Villas VFW Post 5343 located at 6 East Delaware Parkway. His arrival time at the VFW will be approximately 3:15 – 3:30 p.m.
All are welcome to show their support along the procession’s parade route along Bayshore Road starting at 3 p.m. The public is also invited to attend this local hero’s welcome home celebration.
