Home of the Brave

You are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony at Home for the Brave on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 1:30 p.m.  Home for the Brave will offer housing and services to homeless veterans throughout Camden County.  Home for the Brave is located at 271 Atlantic Avenue in Camden and is a service of the Volunteers of America of the Delaware Valley.
Home for the Brave is being constructed as part of the renovation of the Volunteers of America of the Delaware Valley’s Aletha R Wright “Vision of Hope” Center.   It will be a 30-bed housing addition for homeless veterans that will offer intensive case management with wrap around supportive services including job training and placement, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment and health care.  The program will offer a five-stage approach with the veteran eventually becoming the mentor to others entering the program.

Volunteers of America of the Delaware Valley provides community-based assistance to populations in need so that they can lead self-fulfilled, independent lives.  Their programs include Community Housing and Supportive Services, Affordable Housing, Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Programs, Re-entry Services, Domestic Violence Programs and Volunteer Services
