Vietnam Veteran Ian Livingston – Dog Tag Return
December 2017 – Vietnam Veteran Ian Livingston’s dog tag was found in Vietnam in 1993 and returned to the US. Patriot Connections Dog Tag Project Director, Sue Quinn-Morris has located Livingston’s family. Unfortunately, Ian passed away in 2008. The dog tag will be returned to his son, Ryan, in Florida.

Lifelong Islander served in Vietnam War

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Lifelong Staten Islander and Vietnam War veteran Ian B. Livingston, 59, died Saturday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born in New Brighton, Mr. Livingston moved to Castleton Corners in 1988.
A graduate of Curtis High School, he served as a combat engineer with the U.S. Marine Corps. in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970. Mr. Livingston worked as a resident caretaker for Henry Kaufman Campgrounds in Sea View, and later worked for the Staten Island Zoo in West Brighton during the 1980s as a zoo keeper and maintenance worker.
He attended the College of Staten Island during the 1970s.
An avid outdoorsman and conservationist, Mr. Livingston also had an artistic side, enjoying origami and paper-cutting in his spare time.
“He was a loyal, true and gentle man,” said his companion of 20 years, Maryalice Cassidy.
Mr. Livingston is survived by his son, Ryan Livingston. Arrangements for a private funeral service and cremation are being handled by the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton.
